Nice DIY Roof Rack!

John Larkin made an Excellent example of a wood roof rack that he uses to carry a 90 row pound boat on his Subaru wagon.  He used j bolts and wing nuts to hold the rack to the cross bars. The bike tires keep his boat from sliding around. Really nice job John!

  1. I am running a food service business in Fullerton. Every day I need to bake lots of food items in my food service business and use bakery tray racks to store baked food items. These racks also help me to transport food items from the kitchen. If you also have a food service business, then you can also use these racks. Highly recommended!

  2. This is fabulous! I am looking to buy a 17 foot canoe and it is barely too wide for my Honda Odyssey. lol. I was thinking of making a wooden roof rack extender that would keep it from falling off the sides, as well protect my crossbars a little better. This is perfect!!

Is it possible to get more instructions on how to construct these? I'm very capable of making things, but still a beginner in knowing the best methods for construction. Thanks!
